A past Summer's eve

 And then there was FIRE!

We're still here.  Just bogged down a bit.  We've been busy with end of summer stuff--garden/canning, homeschooling, a bit of sewing, yard/driveway work.   Just life, really.

Looking forward to the cooler days, we already have a tree changing to bright red leaves in our yard!  This summer just vanished!

The kids are enjoying school so far.  Jacob- 3rd, Emily- 2nd, Meri- 4K/K, James-Trouble.  I'll post new
"school" pics of them soon hopefully.

Hope things are fine in your corner of the world!

fun and beans

cousins swimming in the freeeeezing pool.
At our county fair.  Meri's favorite ride even though it made her belly hurt.

This was funny to watch.  Meri wasn't sure if she should scream or laugh. They all liked it tho.
Big stuff at the top of the rodeo arena with mom.  He did much better than last year.  But there is only so much rodeo an 18 month old will sit still for.
 The rest of our cuties.
AND...beans!
My first time canning them and it really wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be.  I now have 19 quarts of beans waiting for winter.

Skirts

These skirts were a lot of fun to make.  Simple, quick, cute and long.  The girls picked out their fabric and were amazed when it turned into a skirt ;-)
The pattern on how to make this skirt I found on this blog, On Just A Couple Acres.

Rhubarb, anyone?

Thanks, I think I will!
He mangled it up a bit, made some funny faces and gave it back to me!

We're enjoying our rhubarb that I picked up at my parent's.  Yep, in JULY!   It's still really good.  I ended up just making strawberry rhubarb jam with it. We planted some rhubarb last year here, but it takes 2-3 years before you can pick it.

Concentrate

He must have sat there for at least 10 minutes.  Seriously.  It's a tiny leash for one of the kids' puppies.  It has a snap close, kind of like on a high chair, stroller, whatever.  He LOVES putting it together.  I'm not sure if he figured out how to take it apart again or what.  I just noticed a bit of silence so had to go search him out and was very surprised to see him just sitting there =)
