Labor Day

Labor Day we went to a zoo/park. We grilled out while the kids played on the playgoround and then had a quick stroll past the animals. There were just a handful of animals out, since our errands ran longer than we intended and it was getting close to dark and ready to storm.  This was about the kids favorite:

Just watching....they asked permission (well, Emily did) to climb the fence and go down and catch a duck to hold....uh, thanks for asking but no, I don't think so (can you tell they're used to chasing/catching our chickens that get out every day ;-)

Yay!  A nocturnal animal, out for our viewing pleasure...AND...he was laying right by the fence and didn't mind the kids petting him!!! They were thrilled! 

Many years ago (well, 3 maybe??)  we had a picture of 7 little kids (cousins) on these bears....I don't know if they could all pack onto them now!

Thanks to Tweak My Blogger things are looking like they're back to normal!  Great site for help with Blog problems, I actually got individualized, prompt help and we're up & running, I just deleted and re-added the blog list, etc...anyhow, check out that website if you have any blog-related questions, it's awesome!

Strange things are happenning...

OK, so my Blog List on the sidebar is Slowly but Surely Disappearing.  Oh, and also my Other Blogs, Pictures/Private, and Blog Archive. 
When going in to edit them, it shows they are all there, they just don't APPEAR ON MY BLOG.  So, this will be fun to figure out (sarcasm)
Anyone else having wierd blog issues??  Advice??
Otherwise bear with me, I may have lost the link to your blog, as I didn't have the addresses saved anywhere else....

As I spend time one on one with Emily, Jacob has a variety of different things to do on his own, I found these awesome Lego printable instructions here , put them in plastic in a binder so he can choose one to make.. Great for following directions and he really likes building.



Emily doing Saxon Math...I really really like this Math program, very step by step and easy to teach.

Little Red Apple

Jacob found this guitar at a thrift sale and was THRILLED to be able to get it and sing some songs for us. This is "Little Red Apple" by Jacob Schwenneker, age 7 1/2... enjoy =)
