We make our own snow (flakes that is)

We found this fun experiment from Confessions of a Homeschooler's blog .
You mix borax + boiling water and then you WAIT.  It teaches patience I guess =) The crystals are supposed to form on the snowflakes in about an hour.  You should have seen the anxious kids, sitting and watching and waiting.  When they got bored of that, rushing back from playing every few minutes to see if they could spot any crystals forming ;-)  So, after an hour we still saw no crystals, much to their dismay.  So we added more borax, and ended up letting the things sit there overnight.  I'm not sure if we had old borax, or what we didn't do quite right.
This is what they ended up looking like!  The kids thought the long-awaited for end result was pretty cool!

oh how fun, they are so lucky that mom finds these experiments for them. Glad it worked in the end..to bad they didn't see it happen right before their eyes. Cute to see them all waiting, well, Jake looked bored.
